Wordy Wednesday: Book Meme

Both my great buddies Mickey and Yao-Lin tagged me for the book meme, so I'm gonna make this a Wordy Wednesday.

Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people and post a comment to Empress once you post it to your blog so she can come see!

This is kinda hard, because Momma always has lots of books lying around everywhere. We live in a small 'partment, and Momma still found some way to fit 10 book shelves in here. She says it's her job. I think she's a little bit crazy, too, though, quite frankly.

So there are three books on the coffee table next to our laptop right now: Hollywood and War: a Reader; The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. Dubois; and Anatomy of Criticism by some Bean named Northrop Frye.

Well, I'm going to choose the Hollywood book, because that is the one that sounds like the most fun.

"Many stereotypes have been fostered by the motion picture. The visual immediacy of film has proved ideal for the simplistic depiction of national characteristics. The visual image of the German solider, for example, is common coin today on movie screens and television sets, but it is often forgotten that Americans were first introduced to aspects of this image by the films of World War I."

Well, I guess that wasn't much fun, either. Sorry, buddies.

I'm going to tag Dr. Tweety & co. and the Furry Kids! I think that's more than five, actually, but I'm not too good at math.

Our Mommy and Daddy have tons of books everywhere too! Can you believe sometimes they would rather read than play with us? What is wrong with the beans?

Our humans have books everywhere as well. Back in Canada, they had to stop buying books, and start going to the library, because they didn't have enough space for all the books! Here in Germany, where the libraries don't have many English-language books, they've had to go back to buying books (they are very happy amazon.de has a good English books section). For some reason, they don't like it when we chew on their books.

Momma's got LOTS and lots of books too. I like to sit on top of them and occasionally she stacks them up and when I jump on top they fall down BOOM. I don't like it when the books fall down.

I'm always having to get rid of the books momma reads or no one would ever see her! Can you believe she was late to day hunting last week because she was standing in line for the grand opening of a half priced book store? The first 100 people got a tote bag and gift card. Then she told her boss lady she got stuck in traffic, oh the shame! ~Queen Snickers

Hahahah - this book meme is a strange one! If the computer would be in the other room we could have chosen from about four different books!
It seems that humans who decide to go into employment by cats also like to read.....

Well, we hope that those books are required for your Mom's degree, cause they don't sound like light reading.

Hi Jimmy Joe - just checking in, how are you doing? Has spring arrived in your neck of the woods yet.....?

Hi Jimmy Joe! That book sounds like a textbook. Mom reads mostly fantasy because she had to read so many textbooks when she was taking classes. Sometimes I think she should start reading serious books again though.

Would you please tell Coco I have tagged her for the Book Meme? Then we can know how another one of your books sounds!
