Sunday News: Coco Reads!

Hi every-buddy! First off, I want to share with you a very important new website called "Partners in Animal Health." The super-smart Beans who work at Cornell (that's where my momma is getting her Ph.D) at the College of Veterinary Medicine made this web-site with lots of important information about us kitties (and doggies and other animals), including videos for our Beans. There are special video features on things like toof-brushing, caring for those of us with diabetes, and important information about when kitties (and doggies) get cancer. Tell your Bean to put a bookmark on this page. It is very useful.

OK, now, I can't put it off any longer. Tiger Lily tagged Coco for the Book Meme, and she's (Coco, not Tiger Lily) been bugging me all week. So I told her she could do that today.

Hi, Kittieeeeeees!!!!! Coco here!!!!

I am so excited to share a book with you! Momma has three books on the coffee table next to the laptop computer, so I'm going to pick a book called The Empty Space because I like empty space, especially lots of empty space on the bed so I can pile up all of the pillows in the middle and bunch up the quilt and curl up in the middle!!!!

OK, here's the meme rule:
1. Pick up the nearest book.
2. Open to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.

Here are the three sentences from The Empty Space:
"Yet in Madame Butterfly these words are sung and indirectly Puccini's one phrase has brought the whole form of opera into ridicule. 'Dinner, ho!' in Lear's scene with his knights is similar to 'Have a whisky.' Lears often declaim this phrase, brining the play into artificialities, yet when Lear says the words, he is not acting in a poetic tragedy, he is simply a man calling for his dinner."

[pause]

That was a very stupid three sentences! There's nothing about empty spaces on the bed or on the couch or in the yard in this book!!! Hang on--this is one of Mommie's stupid theatre theory books!!! Oh, man, I thought it was going to be a book about home decorating for wiener dogs.

OK, Jimmy Joe says I have to get off of his blog now. Bye, kittieeeeees!!!!!!!

Hi Coco! Zeke and Sushi here. We are glad Jimmy Joe let you use his blog for this. Is that book one your Mommie has to read to get her Ph.D? We think we would fall asleep if Mom tried to read that to us! The kitties sleep most of the time anyway.

That sounds like an interesting new website Jimmy Joe. Thank you for letting us know about it!

Thank you very much for the Cornell link. Mom just checked it out and bookmarked it.

Coco, Mom says she loves Madame Butterfly, but she's glad she doesn't have to over-think it, her brain would explode!

We will have momma check out the website, Jimmy Joe! And that passage from the book was rather, um, shall we say it, deep? Momma's books are usually romance or Jackie Collins type novels, or the Merck's medical manual (???), so who knows what would have come out of her book? We shudder to find out!

Mom watched the Cornell video about teef brushing. We did too. The cat in the video seemed to really like the toothpaste, wonder what flavor that was?

Thanks for sharing that web site with us, Jimmy Joe! :) That book doesn't sound terribly interesting.

Hi Coco! I would have thought that book was about wiener dogs decorating too, just goes to show you can't judge a book by it's cover : )

Thanks for the link, I bookmarked it. While I was there I watched a few of the videos regarding trimming your cat's nails. On the preparation video they neglected to include a heavy thick shirt to wrap Ollie up in hahahaha!

Coco, I agree with you that was not a good book. Your Mommie really needs a book about how to decorate your home for the doggie. Bye, Coco, it was nice seeing you get to blog :-D
